Jaundice is a disease caused by increase of bile pigments in body fluids and tissues.it is a disease of the liver.
Normal bilirubin level ranges from 0.2-0.8 mg/dl. Jaundice becomes clinically evident when the total serum bilirubin exceeds 2 mg/dl.
Signs & symptoms of jaundice:-
• Skin especially nails, palms get yellowish in color.
• Conjunctiva becomes yellow.
• Mental sluggishness.
• Clubbing of fingers.
• Tremors.
• Loss of body hair.
• Enlargement of parotid gland.
• Liver becomes enlarged.
• Spleen & gall bladder enlargement.
• Accumulation of fluid in abdomen.
• Lymphatic enlargement.
• Urine becomes yellow.
