Sometimes children cannot control the bladder and wet the bed even after the age in which the control is supposed to be acquired. This is due to delay in the maturing of physiological reflex bladder control.
Normal age of achieving normal day time control of bladder is 18-24 months. Night control is achieved by 3 years.
Enuresis (bed wetting) is more common in boys, usually heavy sleepers.
