Conjunctivitis is the commonest disease of the conjunctiva. Conjunctiva is the inner surface of the eyelids. Inflammation of conjunctiva is called conjunctivitis.
Causes of conjunctivitis:-
• Bacterial infection
• Viral infection
• Measles
• Chicken pox
• Herpes zoster
• Mumps
• Influenza
• Yellow fever and dengue fever
• Tuberculosis
• Syphilis
• Contaminated water
• Allergic reaction
• Injury
• Due to some skin disease.
